













The Ochudo Trail, once walked by ascetic monks and pilgrims who made spiritual journeys around Mt. Fuji, is a special trail where you can feel the deep connection between the mountain’s nature and its long history of faith.
Located around 2,300 meters above sea level near the Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station, this route offers magnificent panoramic views of Mt. Fuji’s summit and the Southern Alps on clear days.
Enjoy a relaxing 2.5 km (1.6 mile) hike surrounded by the unique natural landscapes of Mt. Fuji — from rugged lava formations and alpine plants to serene, moss-covered forests.

Guided by a certified mountaineering guide from the Japan Mountain Guides Association, this hike takes you along the Ochudo Trail at Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station.
An experienced guide who has climbed Mt. Fuji more than 50 times will share insights into the mountain’s unique vegetation and spiritual history as you walk together.
The trail is mostly flat with minimal elevation change, making it accessible even for those who aren’t confident in their physical fitness.
Enjoy a special moment surrounded by crisp mountain air and breathtaking views, as you easily experience the nature and culture of Mt. Fuji!
All necessary hiking gear is available for free rental, so even if you don’t have your own equipment, you can join the hike with ease.
Minimum and Maximum number of participants
Each tour accommodates 2 to 5 participants.
Target Age
Elementary school students and older can participate.
Please contact us if you have children younger than that.
Meeting Place
Basically, We will meet and disband at Kawaguchiko station, but up to 5 people can be picked up at the hotel if they are staying in Fujiyoshida City or Kawaguchiko area.
Notes・Cancellation Policy
- If the guide determines that there are no safety issues, the tour will be held rain or shine.
However, the guide may decide to cancel the event based on the weather forecast the day before. In that case, there will be no cancellation fee. - For safety management during the tour, please refrain from participating if you are under the influence of alcohol or are pregnant.
- If you have a chronic disease that could lead to a serious condition (e.g. heart disease, anaphylaxis due to allergy, etc.), please be sure to inform us in advance. Also, please be sure to bring your regular medications with you.

Cancellation from the day before to the day of the tour・・・50% of the tour fee
Cancellation without notice・・・100% of the tour fee

Transportation to the site, mountaineering insurance (although there are few hazards, it is recommended to purchase it if you are concerned about the risk)

9:00 – Meet at Kawaguchiko Station or Mt. Fuji Station.
Use the restroom, then head with the guide to a scenic viewpoint around Lake Kawaguchi.
9:15 – Scenic viewpoint overlooking Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji.
Introduction and overview of the tour itinerary.
10:15 – Arrive at Mt. Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station.
Explore the 5th Station, the gateway to climbing Mt. Fuji. You can even send a letter from Japan’s highest-altitude post office!
10:45 – Begin the hike.
On clear days, enjoy the magnificent view of Mt. Fuji, far more impressive than from the foothills, along with the vast landscape stretching out below.
12:30 - Okuniwa-so
At the end of the trail, Okuniwa-so sits quietly, offering a completely different atmosphere from the restaurants at the 5th Station. Enjoy a cozy, homey vibe reminiscent of a grandmother’s house while savoring handmade Japanese dishes!
While you enjoy lunch at your own pace, the guide will return to the 5th Station to take the car.
